Sir. Alex Ferguson returned to Old Trafford after turning 75 years old

On December 31st of 2016, the legendary manager Sir. Alex Ferguson turned 75 years old and one of the things that he did on his 75th birthday was to return to Manchester United, the club where he became an icon after lifting 38 titles in 26 years.

It’s hard to argue that Sir. Alex Ferguson has been one of the most successful or maybe even the most successful one in the history of the sport. For instance, the search for a new manager for Aston Villa was suggested by Sir Alex Ferguson and not without reason. Wyness is known to have linkages with Alex due to their former past in Aberdeen. Even though Wyness joined the Aberdeen team after leaving Sydney Olympics in 2000 he has been in talking terms with Alex. Hence, when it comes to finding new managers, Sir Alex is someone whom Wyness would resort to. However, Wyness admits that he did not follow Sir Alex’s advice fully and discounted the choices that he had presented.

Ferguson had left Aberdeen long back and Wyness revealed that the club had changed since then. The club had an era before, but today the standards have slipped for the club. For instance, when the club celebrated their centenary most of the present members found it hard to believe that the club had the potential to beat clubs like Real Madrid. Nostalgia is all the club has to offer now. Continue reading “The Shared Camaraderie Between Sir Alex And Wyness”
