Focus on: Sir Alex Ferguson

When we talk about success and fame in the football world, we bring up the name of Sir Alex Ferguson at least once in our conversation. This star of the football world was born on 31st December 1941 and is currently a football manager, managing Manchester United since 1986.

His decisions have been very fruitful to the team who has been the reigning champs in most of the Premier Leagues. He has previously been managing the clubs East Stirlingshire and St. Mirren. He has also been appointed the manager of the Scotland national team for a brief tenure due to the unforeseen death of Jock Stein. His managerial skills and dedication to the team has been immense and has also been knighted in the year 1999 and holds the Freedom of City Aberdeen.

Sir Alex Ferguson started off his football career as a striker for Queen’s Park at a young age of 16. Although he had described his first debut match to be nightmarish, he still managed to help them win scoring a goal as well against Stranrear. Although he showed a commendable performance, scoring 20 goals in his 31 appearances, he still could not hold a strong position in the team and hence moved to St. Johnson’s ion the year 1960. He started off his managerial skills from the year 1974 at a young age of 32. He was initially appointed as the manager for East Stirling.
